PLEASE READ BELOW!

The state of Georgia has a provision for children who do not have insurance that is called “Fee For Service" or "FFS." The purpose of this initiative is to ensure that coverage is always available for children to receive the services that they need. FFS was initially meant to provide children with coverage in the event of a lapse in coverage, for a short time, while the guardian secures primary insurance (regular Medicaid, PeacHacre, Commercial Insurance, i.e BlueCross BlueShield/Aetna etc.).

Beginning January 1, 2011, all service providers were informed that in order to promote efficient and effective and usage of services and funding, the following changes to the usage of FFS have been ordered:

Children who are under the FFS label must formally apply for Medicaid or PeachCare coverage.
This is a joint collaboration between the parents/legal guardian, who will apply for coverage, and
the service provider, who will assist with the process.

The responsibilities of the provider and parent and guardian are as follows:

                         Parent Guardian:
-Will apply for Medicaid coverage. Must provide proof of income & citizenship.
-Will assist in application for Medicaid  coverage
-Will comply with the maintaining of coverage requirements to ensure that are not lapses in
                               future coverage.

                         The Bridges Center:
-Monitors and checks the status weekly until a final determination is made
-Will note application status, approval, and denials.

In order to make this as efficient as possible, The Bridges Center will collaboratively work with you, the referral agents, and the families to make the initial application to the PeachCare for Kids/Medicaid program.

All of the processes in which a referral is made will continue to be the same.  All of the families that are referred to The Brides Center will still receive the high quality of services that you as a stakeholder have come to know and expect from The Bridges Center.
