What made you go into this field?

I have always been interested in the study of human behavior and the science of empirically-based research related to psychopathology.

What do you like best about providing community based services?

I like the fact that services are person-centered, individualized, strength-based and recovery oriented, accessible and provided in the least restrictive environment.

What do you think is the most important Core Value at The Bridges Center and how do you exemplify it daily?

I believe that all of the Core Values are equally important.  I INVEST my skills and talents for the betterment of the agency, I am DEDICATED to improving the lives of our consumers through quality service delivery, I demonstrate RESPECT for myself, fellow colleagues, consumers and their families, and our stakeholders by meeting their needs with service excellence.  I am an INITIATOR who shares my creativity to develop and implement solution focused ideas, address concerns without being prompted to do so, and takes responsibility for my part as a team member.  I show INTEGRITY by verbalizing and demonstrating that I am secure in the future of The Bridges Center by motivating staff and upholding the Core Values of our agency.

Before working at The Bridges Center, what was your most interesting or unusual job?

My most interesting job was when I was a Psychologist Senior/Psychology Associate II for the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice working with juvenile sex offenders who were registered as sex offenders and waiting to transfer to the Virginia Department of Corrections.
